The inaugural Uegwere Community Food Drive of the Kponee-Shovein Foundation took place on December 23, 2018, to great success. The food drive was aimed at providing widows, orphans, and the infirm with foodstuffs for the holiday season.
Approximately one hundred families participated in the food drive. The Foundation provided rice, chicken, and spices, the customary ingredients for a Christmas meal in Uegwere.
This event could not have been so successful without the assistance of the Foundation’s partners in Uegwere. With gratitude to them, we look forward to continuing this tradition in future years.
